Not much to report from today. Nothing in fact.

The weather has been windy with some rain later on, so I decided not to bother with much. I walked Bunty around the quarry where an Oystercatcher had 2 large young. This afternoon I painted the Lesser Grey Shrike (above) based on my photo's.

I'm looking forward to next weekend when we are going down to Suffolk for the week. I hope the weather has improved because I have a good list of Dragonflies, Damselflies and Butterflies to look out for...

After the unsettled weather of the weekend we're set for more unsettled weather this week according to the forecasts.

Unsettled weather is never far away is it - thats what we get for being stuck between the Atlantic & the North Sea I guess?

Fingers crossed for next week.

Lovely painting Stew. I came across more Lesser meadow rue's growing in the dunes at East chevington. It is worth sending your picture to someone who may help you with the diversity of this species. I read up on them in Keble martin but Swan believes they are so diverse that it is difficult to divide them into subspecies accurately. however, your plant looks exceptional.

BB - and toes...
AM - Ta Nigel. I found some larger Medow Rue specimens tonight. I think the first ones are just sea stunted like the 3 inch high cowslips here in spring...
D - Ta Dean. You'll see my pics ( hopefully).

Have a good trip in Suffolk, are you Stone Curlew hunting? if so Weeting Heath in Suffolk/Norfolk border has a good viewpoint...and then you can cross your "thick-knees" Regards BR

BR - Not birding really, I've cleared up those East Anglian specials a few times, its insects and odds and sods for me though I wont complain about a Woodlark, Dartford or a Hobby or two... .
Oh, and I found a Stone Curlew on my doorstep on Boulmer beach in 2005...did I mention that? :)

Thanks OC.
